Swank

Credo Reference

Swank Logo

Swank Digital Campus has 25,000+ feature films, documentaries, TV shows and foreign films available to stream on any laptop, tablet or mobile device.  As a school, SCC can choose 50 titles (movies and documentaries) per calendar year. There is a huge selection, but these are typically major motion picture studio films, so you and your students will actually recognize them!

Swank does work differently than other streaming video platforms, so there are some things to know.

  1. You can access Swank through our Library home page or through the direct link
  2. Once you accessed Swank, register as an instructor. You can then browse the videos. Make sure you check out the titles have already been chosen by other SCC Instructors.
  3. If you find a video you would like to use, you will click on Request, fill out the information, and it will be sent to the Library.
  4. Normally within 2 school days, the library will approve it as long as there are still titles left. You will notified that you are able to use it in your class.
  5. Because SCC is limited to 50 videos a year, make sure that you select videos that you will use in your class. While Swank page doesn’t show trailers for the films, you can see trailers here:
  6. Once the Library has purchased the video, you can click on the share button underneath the video and either copy the direct link or use the embed code to add it to your D2L class (See detailed Instructions below). All SCC students and classes can also access the films through the portal link, not just the selector's students and classes.
  7. Videos will be available for calendar year, so videos chosen will be available they they are picked until December 31 of the current year.
  8. If you would like to use the video(s) the next calendar year, they will need to be requested again.
  9. Contact Julie Gilmore if you have any questions. Additionally, there is an instructor help page that you check as well:
  10. The 50 videos will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
