COVID-19 Policies at the SCC Library

The SCC Library is following the overall SCC COVID-19 policies, with a few special policies for libraries based on recommended guidelines for social distancing and cleanliness. 

Please review these policies and check our Library Hours before visiting.

Visiting the Library

  • Masks/Face coverings are required for everyone regardless of vaccination status. If you do not have a mask, please ask library staff about how to get one.
  • Library patrons should disinfect their own computer/workspace with the provided alcohol wipes before and after each use.
  • Study rooms must be checked out at the library desk with a SCC College ID and are open to current students only. You can also now reserve a study room. Please review the Study Room Rules before visiting. Students must clean their computer/workspace before after using the study room. Please limit the number of people in a study room to the minimum needed to do your work.
  • Computers and seating may be limited based on social distancing guidelines.
  • As of May 17, 2021, Community Patrons following the above procedures are welcome to visit the Library.

Available Services

Most library services are available either in-person or virtually at this time.

  • In-person assistance with research, MLA and APA formatting, and other services is available. Please ask for help at the circulation desk. Virtually, get help via email, phone, or chat at Ask-a-Librarian.
  • Books, DVDs, and other physical materials are available for in-person check out at all locations. For a faster trip, you can request a book via our Library Catalog and be notified by email when it's ready to be picked up (note: we are not offering curb side pick-up; this is pick-up at the circulation desk).
  • Electronic Databases, ebooks, streaming videos, research guides, tutorials, etc. are available 24/7 via our website.
  • Equipment such as copier, scanner, etc. are available.
  • PASCAL Delivers and Interlibrary Loan are also available.
