Welcome to the Evans Academic Center. Students and visitors are only able to enter through the rear entrance of the building (E. Broad St./E. Main St. Side). The Downtown Campus Library is housed on the second floor.

When you enter the rear entrance doors of the Evans Academic Center, the Library will be to the left up 1 level either by the stairs or the elevator in the corner of the building in room 223. You can see it labeled in this picture.

The Downtown Campus Library is open these hours normally. The library is closed when there are no classes in session. Check the academic calendar to see when there are no classes.

The Library Book Return is to the left of the library doors. You can return items even when the library is closed, but the building is open.  For more information, see How Do I Return a Book When the Library is Closed?

The Circulation Desk at the front is where you can check-out materials, including study rooms, course reserves/textbooks, calculators and other equipment. Bring your College ID card to check-out all items! You can also receive color printing and get help from library staff.

At the Circulation Desk, you can get the textbooks and anatomy models that are on reserve. See if the textbook you want is available at the Downtown Campus Library by searching Does the library have my textbook?

You'll also find two printers in the library. The one on the wall on the left is a black and white printer. The printers also scan and copy. Bring your College ID to print! You have to set up your account the first time and then just scan your ID to release your print jobs. To find out more about see Printing in the Library

You'll also find a color printer at the circulation desk. It has scan and copy. Bring your College ID to print! You have to set up your account the first time and then just scan your ID to release your print jobs.

Computers are available for student use, simply log in with your SCC login.

You can also find MLA/APA handouts on the wooden display across from the circulation desk.

We have tables and study space to do your work. All tables and study areas have plugs available so you can easily plug in laptops or devices.

Group Tables

You can get tutoring in the room attached to the library. See The TLC Page for more information. This is also where the Testing Center is as well. There is an open computer lab with computers and additional tables for groups in the space outside the study rooms and next to the TLC/Testing Center.

The Reference Collection. Items include encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, and more! These items cannot be checked out; they can only be used within the library. They are on the side wall.

The Graphics Novel Collection materials and any magazines/journals/newspapers are found on the short shelf. If you find something at one of the other campuses, you can also request items be delivered from another campus.

Popular Fiction reading materials are located in the back of the library on the left shelf. Students may borrow up to 15 books at a time for 3 weeks. If you need any help finding materials, Library staff are always happy to help you.

The non-fiction/academic books called "Stacks" or Circulating Collection which support the college's programs and classes are located in the back near the comfortable seating. We also have eBooks available online!

Downtown has 3 medium study rooms for 1-5 students. Rooms have a computer, TV, and whiteboard.  Bring your College ID to check-out study rooms at the front desk. Study rooms are first-come, first-served, but can be reserved ahead of time too.
