Welcome to the Peeler Academic Building! The Cherokee Campus Library is housed on the first floor.

When you enter the right entrance doors of the Peeler Academic Building, the Library will be on the left about 50 feet inside the building.

The Cherokee Campus Library is open these hours normally. The library is closed when there are no classes in session. Check the academic calendar to see when there are no classes.

The Library Book Return is to the right of the door. You can return items even when the library is closed, but the building is open.  For more information, see How Do I Return a Book When the Library is Closed?

The Circulation Desk at the front is where you can check-out materials, including study rooms, course reserves/textbooks, calculators and other equipment. Bring your College ID card to check-out all items! You can also find MLA/APA handouts, receive color printing, and get help from library staff.

At the Circulation Desk, you can get the textbooks that are on reserve. See if the textbook you want is available at the Cherokee Campus Library by searching Does the library have my textbook?

You'll also find two color printers and they also scan and copy for student use. Bring your College ID to print! You have to set up your account the first time and then just scan your ID to release your print jobs. To find out more about see Printing in the Library

Computers are available for student use, simply log in with your SCC login. Comfortable soft seating is throughout the library.

We have tables and study space to do your work. All tables and study areas have plugs available so you can easily plug in laptops or devices. As well as more computers on the side walls.

The Library also hosts the TLC's tutors. You can get tutored in English, Math, Science, and Business/computer tech/accounting. See The TLC Page for more information.

The Reference Collection. Items include encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, and more! These items cannot be checked out; they can only be used within the library. They are next to Popular Fiction reading materials.

Cherokee Referene and Popular Fiction

The back of the library is where you will find our main collection of non-fiction/academic books, which has books for the college's programs and classes. This area is called "Stacks" or Circulating Collection. Students may borrow up to 15 books at a time for 3 weeks.  You can also request items be delivered from another campus. If you need any help finding materials, Library staff are always happy to help you. We also have a ton of eBooks available online via our website!

Cherokee has 2 large group study rooms for groups of 3-6 students. Rooms have a computer, TV, and whiteboard. One study room has a large skeleton model.  Bring your College ID to check-out study rooms at the front desk. Study rooms are first-come, first-served, but can be reserved ahead of time too.
