There is a lot to celebrate during Black History Month! The origins of Black History Month trace back to 1915, when Dr. Carter G. Woodson founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (now known as the Association for the Study of African American Life and History). In February 1926, Dr. Woodson initiated the first Negro History Week. During the Civil Rights Movement, Negro History Week evolved into Black History Month on multiple college campuses. In 1976, President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month.

Below are some resources and events from various organizations to celebrate Black History Month.
