Before you begin work on any research project, examine the assignment closely for any requirements. 

Part 1 - Business Idea
In a Word document, provide your business idea. It should provide an answer to the question - What is your business? The more details you have the better (e.g. geographic scope, B2B, D2C). Ideally, you have a sense as to the business model you intend to use - if so, note it. If not, provide an idea of which model(s) you are considering. Be sure to pick something that is of interest to you!

Part 2 - Environmental Scan
In a Word document, provide your research on your industry and your business concept's competitive advantage (aka value proposition). This will include your SWOT analysis, PESTLE analysis, BCG matrix, and industry dynamics (growth/decline). From this section, your instructor should end up with a solid understanding of the industry and where your business fits in the market.

Part 3 - Marketing/Legal
In a Word document, provide your organizational structure (e.g. LLC, C Corp, B Corp) and why you selected this structure. Outline your marketing plan, which should include your customer segments (including size) and channels to be used. From this section, your instructor should end up with a solid understanding of how you intend to share your business with your customer base. This should also include your product/service pricing.

Part 4 - HR & Operations
In a Word document, provide your operations plan and the significant human resources (HR) issues you will face (e.g. policies regarding hiring and compensation). From this section, your instructor should end up with a solid understanding of how you will operate your business on a daily basis and what HR issues that you will need to manage.

Part 5 - Finances
In an Excel document, provide your three year pro forma (aka projections). Provide your source(s) of funding to support the startup of the business. From this section, your instructor should end up with a solid understanding of your revenue and expenses.

Part 6 - Executive Summary
In a Word document, provide a summary of your business plan components. This should be no longer than one page and cover all of the topics you have previously written a section.

Part 7 - Pitch Deck
Create a slide deck that pitches your business idea. The goal is to generate support for your business idea - think of getting investors or getting loan approval. Your slide deck should be high image low text. Maximum number of slides is 10.
