Analyze Your Ad

Who is your advertisement aimed at? Think about who might be involved. This could be specific people, but it could also be groups of people - consider different groups based on age, race, ethnicity, gender, and socioeconomic status (wealth).

What desires, fears, dreams and other motivations is your ad hoping to evoke in the viewer?

When was your ad published? How was society at that time different from today? What role models, dreams, or motivations were considered important at that point in history?

Is your ad specific to a certain region of the United States, the whole United States or the world?

Why did the advertiser use those specific images, symbols, and other visual persuaders in their ad? What reaction from the reader were they hoping to achieve?
