This guide contains information to help you cite sources in CSE format.

Cite a Website

References to websites and other online formats follow the same general principles as for printed references, with the addition of a date of update/revision (if available) along with an access date and a URL.

 

Website

Format:

Title of Homepage. Place of publication: Publisher; Date of publication [date accessed]. URL.

 

Example:

APSnet: plant pathology. St Paul (MN): American Phytopathological Association; 2015 [accessed 2016 Jun 20]. http://www.apsnet.org/.

 

Website Journal Article

Format:

Author(s) of article. Title. Abbreviated Journal Title. Date of publication [date accessed];volume(issue):page numbers. URL.

Example:

Birmingham K. The move to preserve cloning. J Clin Invest. 2015. [accessed 2017 Jan 3]; 112(11): 1600-1601. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/123456.
