Citing an Article Written for a Database

Some database articles are not contained in a journal, magazine, book, or newspaper.  These articles are written exclusively for the database such as Hoover's, Issues and Controversies or Today's Science.  The following examples can help you cite an article written for a database.


Example: “Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.” Hoover’s, 2016.

Issues and Controversies:

Example: “Human Trafficking.” Issues and Controversies, Infobase Learning, 17 Nov. 2010.

Today's Science:

Example: Smith, Eric. “The Carbon Solution.” Today’s Science, Infobase Learning, July 2016.

Opposing Viewpoints in Context:

Example: “Guns and Violence.” Opposing Viewpoints Online Collection, Gale, 2016. Opposing Viewpoints in Context.
